Wake County Smart Start works to ensure children in Wake County, birth to 5, are prepared for success in school and in life. To that end, we prioritize community needs and focus on funding projects in the following areas:
* available and accessible quality child care,
* safe and supportive home environments, and
* kindergarten readiness.
Wake County Smart Start works to improve the quality, accessibility and affordability of child care settings. The organization also provides funding for preventive health and early intervention programs as well as family support initiatives, among others.
