The Arc of North Carolina is an advocacy and service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Founded by families more than 50 years ago, The Arc of North Carolina has a membership base of more than 5,000 individuals in over 30 affiliated chapters throughout the state. Each chapter of The Arc, state and local, is governed by an elected board of directors consisting primarily of family members and individuals with developmental disabilities. This structure puts The Arc in a unique position to provide guidance for the improvement of the service system for
people with developmental disabilities. We are committed to securing the right of people with intellectual & developmental disabilities to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, and play. The Arc of North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that has proudly worked with and for families and people with intellectual & developmental disabilities for over fifty years.
