The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) invites you to participate in our Long-Sleeve Shirt Drive starting February 1, 2021. This drive will be held from now until the end of March. We will collect gently used long-sleeve shirts, hats, and gloves. All donations will be given to farmworkers in rural Eastern North Carolina.
There are four designated locations in Greenville to drop off donations. There will be boxes inside La Tropicana Supermarket (1204 Memorial Dr. Greenville, NC 27834), La Sinaloense (1700 W 5th St, Greenville, NC 27834), and El Rancho Supermarket(2500 Charles Blvd, Greenville, NC 27858). Shirts can also be dropped off at the AMEXCAN office (1410 Evans St, Suite 1, Greenville, NC 27834) but requires scheduling a drop off. You can schedule to drop off donations by calling Jailene at (919)376-7096.
Collected shirts will be distributed to camps in Eastern North Carolina during National Farmworker Awareness Week, March 25-31, 2021. Our goal at AMEXCAN is to motivate our community to stay engaged and involved. AMEXCAN encourages any organizations and groups to host their own shirt drive. For more information, please contact Jailene Rodriguez at jrodriguez@amexcannc.org or call (919)376-7096. We hope you will participate in our call to action and thank you for your continued support.
