On Wednesday, December 14, at 10:00 am, North Carolina Dreamers, elected officials and business leaders will hold a press conference outside the Raleigh office of Senator Thom Tillis to support passage of a bipartisan immigration package introduced by him and Sen. Sinema (D-AZ).
The NC Collective organized a candlelight vigil for immigration rights. It was held in front of the offices of Senator Thom Tillis in downtown Raleigh. More than 20 community leaders from different regions of North Carolina attended the event.
The state of emergency declared nation-wide due to COVID-19 led to the creation of public health policies that aimed to protect citizens from the health contingency. The laws included continuous Medicaid coverage under which beneficiaries were guaranteed uninterrupted coverage, with no need for an annual redetermination on the basis of changes in their household or their income.
