“The Fiesta de la Octava celebrating Sr. de la Resurrección- Cherán Michoacán from North Carolina” by Edgar Bernal

In this photographic exhibition, artist Edgar Bernal takes us on a visual journey through the Fiesta de la Octava, from the perspective of someone who lives in North Carolina, United States. The photographs capture the emotion of the celebration, showing us the devotion of the people towards their faith and their culture.

Childhood portrait

Smiling and sipping a coffee, with a sweet, almost childish gaze and that jovial, authentic posture that we know him from his program El Rollo de Fili, there was the illustrious countryman who during his forty years of work photographed and showed us the other Colombia with its history, geography, culture and countless peoples and characters such as Gabriel García Márquez, Fanny Mike, Plinio Apuleyo Mendoza, Obregón, Botero, Shakira, Salvo Basilie, Gloria Valencia de Castaño, presidents, politicians, businessmen... also, Donald Trump and many others that were on the cover of some of the magazines with the largest national circulation or that are part of his seven published books, apart from those that are in the process of being published and disseminated.

Los Tigres del Norte

Los Tigres del Norte originally from Sinaloa, Mexico. They have pioneered norteño music and have established their legacy as one of the most influential and respected groups in Latin music.

Those black birds

There is something I want to complement, brother, before starting with mine. It is in relation to what you said in one of your previous stories. Not only time is, today, our greatest and most expensive asset. Perhaps just as valuable, perhaps more, are our experiences. As well as the infinity of contributions that we have made in silence to this beautiful country... and in the tumultuous time when we did it: the last quarter of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st.

sneaky encounters

Every day at 6:40 am they meet in the same place, without fail! After kissing and hugging each other with undisguised passion and passionate love, they sit on the matchless hard cement bench under the concupiscent shade of a proud and old pine tree that guards, no one knows since when, that small popular neighborhood park.

Together

Only one condition Ester Julia imposed on Efrén Sepúlveda to forgive him and accept the new marriage proposal after those sixty years of absence!, since when he left her standing at the door of the town church...

Between words and letters

At the end of the event that the young poet managed and carried out, the three agreed to go to dinner, as a farewell before leaving for their places of origin. Until the meeting they were only virtual friends. This, thanks to the magic of the networks and the mutual taste for letters that, after a few years, finally brought them together during the execution of that quixotic literary industry.

Reverie

There was no room for happiness, or emotion!, to be in that magical place. I thought I would never fulfill such a chimera. I had it in my mind since I was a teenager when a classmate told me...

The Valley of Apparitions and its Characters

Presentation and synopsis of the play 'El valle de las apariciones - Novela Coral', about the story of a writer who travels to a town, invited to participate in a literary event. During that journey he meets and interacts with unlikely characters: flesh and blood humans, apparitions, rurality (nature) and even the social history of that subcontinental country. Both of them impact him, not only his lyrics, but also his life.

The Other Band

On the way, the guide told us that that place was La Otra Banda. At that moment something of curiosity caused me such a denomination. However, with my mind set on my purpose of reaching the Municipal Library of Higüey, in the province of La Alta Gracia, the literary destination of that day, I soon forgot.
