The number of people with diabetes in the Americas has tripled in three decades

Rising rates of obesity, poor diets and lack of physical activity, among other factors, have contributed to the number of adults living with diabetes in the Americas region tripling in the past 30 years, according to a new report of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

Generally speaking, they consider themselves to be overweight or fat, even when they are underweight or simply very thin. Anorexia affects girls and women more than boys and men. Anorexia is a serious health problem that can increase the risk of premature death. But people with anorexia can get better with treatment.
