On Saturday, September 16, the celebration of Mexico's national holidays was held for the second time in the community of Louisburg, North Carolina. A totally community event organized by Alicia De Dios Fernandez and Ranita Garcia, community leaders dedicated for more than 8 years to different missions of supporting communities, including artistic and cultural promotion.
Louisburg, North Carolina - In an effort to keep Mexico's rich cultural heritage and traditions alive abroad, members of the Louisburg, North Carolina, and surrounding areas will unite for the second consecutive year to celebrate the Fiestas Homelands. This event will take place next Saturday, September 16, starting at 4 pm, at 895 NC 39 Hwy, Louisburg, NC 27549.
With the aim of helping to preserve and expand our traditions and culture, the first celebration of the national holidays and commemoration of the Independence of Mexico was held in Louisburg, North Carolina.

Today, Governor Roy Cooper signed a State of Emergency in preparation for impacts from Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen. “It is important for North Carolinians to prepare for potential impacts from the coming storm,” said Governor Cooper. “The storm's path has been difficult to predict and we want to ensure that farmers, first responders and utility crews have the tools necessary to prepare for severe weather."
