La Jornada- Columbia SC is a Transitional Foster Care Program that receives children who end up at the US Southern Border alone or unaccompanied. Our mission is to provide holistic care while they are with our program and reunify them with their family in the US.
Petates are a symbol of resilience and strength. They have been used by people who have faced many challenges and continue to be used by people who are struggling to survive. The petate is a reminder that even in the most difficult times, there is always hope.
