La Jornada- Columbia SC is a Transitional Foster Care Program that receives children who end up at the US Southern Border alone or unaccompanied. Our mission is to provide holistic care while they are with our program and reunify them with their family in the US. During their time here we provide mental health, educational, legal, medical, and case management services. For our program to run we depend on Foster Families who are willing to go through the licensing process and open their home to a child in need. The children that we receive are with us temporarily, with an average length of stay of 20-30 days (Depending on the case).
If you or someone you know are interested in becoming a foster parent please reach out to our Foster Parent Recruiter, Ana Agredano at aagredano@nyap.org (803) 386-1143 or to any of our leadership staff.
