In order to continue opening spaces to listen, dialogue and connect with young dreamers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Institute for Mexicans Abroad, inaugurated the IV Dreamers Forum, this time in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Raleigh, North Carolina.
This V Forum Dreamers 2022, will be held from November 16 to 18 and will bring together 81 dreamers from 31 cities in the United States.
Among the objectives of this forum are:
· Link the young dreamers who have participated in the previous forums and with the new participants.
· Bring the dreamer leaders in the United States closer to the government and relevant actors in Mexico, to contribute to their personal and professional development;
Strengthen their roots and ties with Mexico
· Contribute to the empowerment of dreamers and their communities;
· Encourage the involvement of Mexicans in issues of citizen participation;
· Establish and strengthen work networks for the exchange of experiences of regional and national scope;
· Provide the tools that allow dreamers to reach their potential as transnational leaders and promote their binational identity;
To participate in this meeting, a call was launched months ago in two modalities; the first for those who have been part of the previous forums organized in recent years, giving as
As a result, the participation of 33 dreamers and the second, was open to new participants who wished to be part of this meeting, under this modality 48 dreamers participate.
During three days they will have the opportunity to interact with each other and specify the 4 projects that, derived from the formation of groups, they previously developed, under the following thematic axes: Sustainable development of migrant communities, public policies with a gender perspective, youth in the politics, youth entrepreneurship and creative industries.
In addition to the development of projects, discussion panels will be held with representatives of civil society, rights of the LGBTQ+ community, academia, local officials and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The foregoing, in order to provide feedback on the initiatives of the dreamers and the Government of Mexico in favor of communities abroad.
