Originally from Cali, Colombia; Susana is a designer, bilingual writer, and award-winning author. He lives in the city of Miami, Florida where he enjoys photographing sunsets, his orchids and his two cats.
Among her works in Spanish are: Clara, a collection of poems that combines the emotional contrasts of her life; and, What I write in the sand (stories and other things that are forgotten), a collection of stories, micro-stories and illustrations that reflect the versatility of the author’s style and theme, very appropriate for young and adult audiences. This work has been recognized at the International Latino Book Awards 2021, with an honorable mention in the category of best book of short stories in Spanish, gold medal for best interior design and silver medal for best media portfolio for a book.
Inspired by her love of children’s literature and storytelling; Susana, in collaboration with Snow Fountain Press, published her first children’s book: Lala, a Different Kind of Lizard, which was recognized in 2020 with second place at the International Latino Book Awards in the Illustrated Books category. for most inspiring children and became the first book in the bilingual Lala the Lizard™ series, followed by Lala and the Pond by The Rock.
In 2021, he worked alongside Disney’s editorial and artistic team to publish the first bilingual Pictureback® book based on Encanto, a feature film that tells of an extraordinary family living in the mountains of Colombia, highlighting the rich culture, traditions and exuberant geography of his native country.
