The NC Latino Advocacy and Civic Engagement Initiative (Mi Familia Vota) and NC Latino Health Alliance would like to cordially invite you to our Voter Registration & Personal Protective Equipment Distribution Table Event at East Carolina University. This event will take place on February 15th (Tuesday) from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Main Campus Student Center Lawn. Not only that, but this tabling event will be conducted once a month until the end of the Spring 2022 semester. We hope that you will join us.

Mi Familia Vota was developed, in early 2020, to support voter registration and redistricting updates as part of AMEXCAN’s Advocacy and Civic Engagement programs. Our goal is to continue educating the community about the significance of voting and build awareness of citizens’ civic duties. It is important to be aware of your rights as a resident of the United States, who can vote for your desired candidates and raise your voices against destructive and damaging legislation by utilizing your votes. Along with Mi Familia Vota, we make sure to educate the community about any redistricting issues and informing others about law and civic topics in the area.

NCLHA was created in 2018 by AMEXCAN to increase positive health outcomes for the NC Latino community through the collaboration of organizations. The Latino community would receive health education, resources, and services through these collaborations. Not only that, but we envision communities having equitable access to health care services and being free of health disparities. This vision is captured with our slogan “Unidos por Nuestra Salud.” This section of AMEXCAN has hosted virtual webinars regarding health disparities, cancer, COVID-19 and plans to start monthly in-person health events across eastern North Carolina focusing on the Latino population

If you are interested in attending but have questions, please email Natalia Figueroa-Bernal at nfigueroa@amexcannc.org or Sarah Mejia at smejia@amexcannc.org. You can also call the AMEXCAN call center at 252-367-8779. Thank you!
