Carolina Fonseca , Visual Artist creates these candles “Vela de Unidad” and “Las Caras de los Sueños”, for the Dia de Muertos offering of Revista Latina.
One of the most representative traditions of the country is the Day of the Dead, a time when thousands of families place an offering to share bread, water, sweets and other ornamental elements with different meanings with the deceased.
The candles in an offering represent hope and faith. A guide so that the deceased can reach their old places and have the return to their abode enlightened. If the tapers or candlesticks are purple, it is a sign of mourning; and four are placed in the shape of a cross, representing the four cardinal points, so that the soul can orient itself until it finds its way home.
