It is an honor and a privilege for those of us who are part of Revista Latina to be here today to receive the 2022 Ohtli Prize, the highest award for those who, during their pilgrimage around the world, have not hesitated or hesitated to mark their path. This, so that new generations of young Mexicans looking for opportunities to make or rebuild their lives, can follow them.
We express our deepest gratitude to the Government of Mexico and to the Consul General of Mexico in the Carolinas, Claudia Velasco Osorio, for giving this great recognition.
Revista Latina has the valuable participation of collaborators from Mexico and various Latin American countries who have contributed their talent. To all of them our equal recognition.
Revista Latina has been and will continue to be an organization that promotes and disseminates the different artistic and cultural activities that keep alive the traditions of Mexican and Latin American migrants living in North Carolina and in general abroad.
Revista Latina welcomes the achievements made and the benefits it has granted to the Mexican and Latin American community that lives not only in North Carolina, but in other states.
One of the main benefits is that it helps migrants, even if they live outside their country, to recognize themselves as part of it, celebrating their festivities, recognizing their history and cultural roots, which contribute to the strengthening of their identity.
Revista Latina, promotes an approach to Information and Communication Technologies that are required by global citizens to learn to Be, to Do, to Live Together, and to Learn to Learn.
Revista Latina seeks to be a bridge of opportunities for the Latino community to connect through the dissemination of actions carried out by organizations, Government and Educational Units in North Carolina and other states.
For this reason and much more, on this day of emotion and recognition, those of us who make up Revista Latina want to reiterate our conviction and commitment to the projection of Mexican and Latin American culture to the community that resides in North Carolina and abroad.
Revista Latina is “The place where we discover many cultures, but the pride of belonging to one unites us”.
